Patient Responsibilities & Disclosures
By booking an appointment or undergoing a consultation or treatment at Victoria Medical Aesthetics, you agree to fulfil the following professional and clinical responsibilities. Failure to do so may result in the immediate cancellation of your treatment without a refund of your booking fee or deposit.
Accurate and Honest Medical History
Botulinum Toxin is a prescription-only medical treatment. You agree to provide a completely accurate, honest, and full medical history during your face-to-face consultation and on all pre-treatment intake forms. You must explicitly disclose:
All diagnosed medical conditions, chronic illnesses, or neurological disorders (e.g., Myasthenia Gravis, Eaton-Lambert syndrome).
Current pregnancies, active attempts to conceive, or if you are currently breastfeeding.
All medications, supplements, vitamins, or over-the-counter drugs you are currently taking (especially blood thinners or muscle relaxants).
Any known allergies, particularly to botulinum toxin or human albumin.
Any previous aesthetic treatments, surgeries, or adverse reactions you have experienced.
Pre-Treatment Protocols
You are responsible for following all pre-treatment advice provided by our clinicians or outlined on our website. This includes, but is not limited to:
Avoiding alcohol, blood-thinning supplements (like Vitamin E, Fish Oil, or Ginkgo Biloba), and anti-inflammatory medications (like Aspirin or Ibuprofen) for at least 24 to 48 hours prior to treatment to minimise bruising, unless medically prescribed by your doctor.
Arriving at your appointment with a clean face free of heavy makeup.
Post-Treatment Aftercare Compliance
The safety, longevity, and success of your treatment depend heavily on proper aftercare. You agree to strictly follow the post-treatment instructions provided by your practitioner. Key responsibilities include:
Keeping the treated area clean and avoiding touching, rubbing, or massaging the injection sites for at least 4 to 24 hours to prevent the product from migrating to unintended muscles.
Remaining upright for at least 4 hours immediately following your injections.
Avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds, or prolonged heat exposure for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment.
Delaying any other facial treatments (such as chemical peels, facials, or microdermabrasion) for at least 2 weeks.
Under-18 Restriction & Age Verification
In accordance with legislation, we strictly do not provide treatments to individuals under the age of 18. You agree to provide valid, government-issued photo identification (such as a passport or driving licence) upon request. If you fail to provide valid proof of age at your appointment, your treatment will be refused, and your deposit will be forfeited.
Reporting Adverse Reactions & Review Window
The 2-Week Window: Botulinum toxin takes up to 14 days to achieve full clinical effect. You agree to wait a full 14 days before requesting a follow-up adjustment or "touch-up."
Adverse Events: If you experience any unexpected side effects or signs of complications (such as severe swelling, severe pain, breathing difficulties, or vision changes), you are responsible for contacting the clinic immediately or seeking emergency medical attention if outside clinic hours.
