What is Botulinum Toxin ? How Does it Work?
Understanding Wrinkle-Relaxing Treatment
Botulinum Toxin is a safe, purified protein injected into specific muscles using an ultra-fine needle. It works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. When the muscles relax, the overlying skin smooths out, significantly reducing the appearance of dynamic lines which appear when you smile or frown. Repeated treatments help prevent these dynamic lines from deepening and becoming permanent static lines over time.
At Victoria Medical Aesthetics, we focus purely on the upper face, targeting three primary areas:
Frown lines: The vertical lines between your eyebrows.
Forehead lines: The horizontal lines that appear when you raise your brows.
Crow’s feet: The fine lines around the outer corners of your eyes.
The treatment takes 20-30 minutes, results begin to show in 3-5 days with full effects visible by14 days. The results last typically between 3 and 4 months.

A Streamlined, Safe, and Professional Process
Because Botulinum Toxin is a prescription-only medical treatment, Victoria Medical Aesthetics operates under strict medical and ethical guidelines. For safety and legal compliance, your consultation and treatment cannot take place on the same day. This ensures your medication is individually prescribed and ordered specifically for you.
1. Pre-Appointment Screening: Prior to a consultation booking being confirmed, you will complete a short medical questionnaire. This checks for any immediate medical contraindications to ensure you are a safe candidate for treatment, respecting your time and our prescribing team's schedule.
2. The Face-to-Face Consultation: You will meet with Victoria and our Registered Nurse Prescriber at our clinic. We will discuss your aesthetic goals, manage expectations, and officially complete your medical prescription. Your consultation fee is fully deductible from your final treatment cost.
3. Prescription Ordering & Treatment Booking: Once approved, your treatment appointment can be scheduled. At this stage, a standard prescription payment of 50% of the remaining balance is taken to secure your medication order from our pharmacy. Please note: This specific payment is strictly non-refundable once the prescription has been issued, as the medication is legally assigned to you only.
4. Your Treatment & 2-Week Review: You return to the clinic for your professional treatment. Between 2-3 weeks later, you will attend a complimentary follow-up appointment to assess your final results and receive free adjustments if clinically required.

I began my career in a specialist cosmetic surgery clinic. I then spent the next 19 years working in the Critical Care Department of one of England’s largest and busiest NHS Foundation Trusts. This intensive background means I bring an elite level of clinical precision, anatomy knowledge, and medical safety to my aesthetics practice.
